I just finished restoring my 72 chevelle. Replaced all the ac parts except for the evaporator and had that tested first. Added 3.75 pounds of r12 freon. Low and high side reading were ok. No cold air was blowing out the vents. Low side poa tube was not cooling down either. Alot of condensation form the evaporator area. Why isnt it blowing cold?
Are there bubbles in the sight glass on the drier? Did you change the driwer to one compatable to R134a, and did you use virgin R12 or an R12 replacement?? The low side should be around 28.5 psi with a POA and r12.. The fact that it's removing water thru the drain is a good sign though..You may just need to 'adjust" the charge a bit..

Im using real r12. The site glass is almost totally clear. I could probbaly add a touch more but im not going to waste anymore if the system needs to be evcuated to work on it. I had the POA tested and rebuilt. Could the poa be blocked or the expansion valve be blocked?
I just took the whole systen apart and flushed it thinking there might be an oil blockage. Cools slightly better but still isnt blowing any better than 75 at best. The pressures are still correct. the evaporator is sweating too. What could be wrong? Its a rebuilt POA and the only part not repalced is the evaporator. Why are the pressures fine but not blowing cold
defective heater core bypass valve, blend door issue?
