Can't find the suction port

pilot9 on Sat September 29, 2007 12:38 AM User is offline

Year: 1990
Make: Ford
Model: E350 Class C motorhome
Engine Size: 460
Refrigerant Type: R12

I just bought this Class C motorhome and want to recharge but I have traced the low pressure lines and cannot find a suction port! The high side port is in plain sight. No ports on the compressor or receiver/drier. Can I tee off the pressure switch to add a port?
Thanks

Follow the low side hose from the compressor to the evaporator. and you should fijnd it. If it's build on the "E" type frame, and factory air, you may be able to see it looking thru the drivers side (under the hood) running over the engine..but where the line is near the firewall. Hard to see, but it's in there....

Pull the entire airfilter box and it's bracket out. The low side line runs along the top of the engine housing, kinda under the windshield. The port hangs down.
