reman vs new compressor

70monte on Wed June 18, 2008 7:14 PM User is offline

Year: 1992
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Cavalier
Engine Size: 2.2L
Refrigerant Type: R12
Country of Origin: United States

What is the consensus about using a reman vs a new AC compressor? This site only lists a reman for my application and I'm a bit hesitant to use a reman unit. I can get a new Delco compressor for about the same price as this reman. I got a new Delco from this same place two years ago for my other cavalier and it still works good.

So, what do you guys prefer?

Wayne

The V5 is a good compressor and remans are just fine, especially from this site (Only uses the best vendors) but I'm sure if you e-mail them at info@ackits.com they can give you a price on new. They don't have everything listed on their site, but they have just about everything..., Hope this helps..

Chick & TRB,
Thanks for the info. I should have figured that this site offered a new compressor since I bought some stuff from here last year for my chevy truck that wasn't listed on the site.

TRB, What are the warrenties on the reman and new compressors. Thanks.
