Confused about pressure readings

Bobby82490 on Thu June 26, 2008 5:31 PM User is offline

I took your guys advice and bought a MC gauge set instead of the HF gauge set.
Anyway i was trying out my new gauges on my '98 f-150 and my moms '02 Escape.

My truck: '98 F-150 with a 5.4l, ambeint temp was around 90
Low side-29psi
High Side-200-205psi

My moms 02 Escape with a 3.0l , ambient temp ranged from about 95-115 degrees depending on where you read it on the condensor.
Low side- 23-24psi
High Side-300psi
Vent temp- about 60 degrees (max a/c with doors closed)

These reading were with the doors open, normal a/c, and max blower speed. The engines were at 1500-1600rpms. Now on my truck the pressures look alright, but my moms car the high side looks pretty high? I'm a A/C newbie and im not sure what to make of these pressures.
Any help will be appreciated.

Pressures are not too far out of line. Unless she is complaining about the cooling I would not mess with it.

It doesnt cool very good, I would say the A/C is "cool" at best, nowhere near cold... like it was when we first got it.
