mikem234 on Fri July 04, 2008 11:47 AM User is offline

Year: 97
Make: acura
Model: integra
Engine Size: 1.8
Refrigerant Type: 134a

I'm about to piece together a kit to recharge my ac.. But i still don't understand couple things. whats the difference in dual stage vaccum?? i'll probably get 3 port manifold.. so would dual stage act like 4 port so i can hook up charge line somewhere on vacuum pump? just trying to understand the purpose in detail

Dual stage pumps pull a better vacuum quicker. Weekend mechanic a single stage is fine but I do prefer the dual stage. Second part of you question, no.

My suggestions,

3 CFM Vacuum pump

5 CFM Vacuum Pump

Yes if you purchase one of the pumps I have listed. Not sure on other brands but many come with both R12 and R134a pots on the pump.

This gauge set will cover your needs with either refrigerant.

Don't for get the can tap if you plan to use small cans of refrigerant.
