connecting standard to metric hose

Drake57 on Thu July 31, 2008 11:48 AM User is offline

Year: 1991
Make: Infiniti
Model: Q45
Country of Origin: United States

To be able to fit a Seltec to Infi Q45, I need to somehow connect standard hose from compressor to what I think is metric hose on the car. Once before I used a barb splicer fitting (dual barb fitting), which due to mismatch between standard size barb and metric hose, the barb was slightly too big, difficult to force into the hose, then used a screw type hose clamp to secure the fitting. It worked, but I'd like to know if there is any better/more reliable/cleaner solution. Also, I have doubt about the reliability of the hose clamp.

I see the aluminum brazing rods - can I use oxygen/acetylene heat with same?

Thanks in advance for any assistance, Drake.

Yes, that what we use in the shop. MAP Gas is listed for the DIY individual.

Have you ever tried to braze aluminum to copper with that stuff? Wondering if it would work.
