Where is expansion valve on a 90 Nissan D21 truck?

Year: 1990
Make: Nissan
Model: D21 Truck
Engine Size: 3.0L
Country of Origin: United States

Is the expansion valve on the 1990 Nissan truck inside with the evaporator? How is it accessed?

We noticed the valve is $75 from the dealer, $25 aftermarket and only $9 from AMA. I hope we are looking at the right one!

I think this will be a typical Japanese design where you remove the glove box, disconnect the lines under the hood, and take the evaporator box out thru the glove box opening. Once it is out of the truck, open up the evaporator box and the TXV is inside.

Yep it's inside the evap housing.

Pretty easy actually. Reclaim remove the lines out side and a few screws and the evap drops out.
