When I start the car, if I run the AC on the coldest setting it will blow cold for quite awhile, 45 minutes to an hour and then it will begin to blow warm air. If I turn down the thermostat a little it will blow cold longer and then it will blow warm for a short period and then cool down again.
So if I run the AC at about 90% of the coldest setting then after awhile it will cycle back and forth, cool air and then warm air. This is what I do to make it tolerable. Any ideas on where to go from here?
Thanks for your help.
It's either evaporator freeze-up, or clutch trouble (gap too wide so it doesn't engage all the time when hot). To differentiate, drive until it is not cooling then pull over and check if the compressor is engaged or not.
