New "Vintage Air" Heater Control Valve Servo Problem

Year: 1939
Make: Ford
Model: Panel
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 72
Pressure Low: 70
Pressure High: 210
Country of Origin: United States

I am helping a dear fried with his 39 Ford Panel. I went to evac/charge his system. Evac done ok. Preliminary Charged. Extremely hot air comes out. Compressor is working at least a little bit (Temperature differential between HI and LO side as well as close to expected pressures. THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM YET. The pressures are approximate from memory, but I do not need help with that yet.

The first major problem is a "VINTAGE AIR" brand unit. 49110-shx +49110-shz system Click Here for closest wiring diagram online! Here is our problem. The servo on the water heater hose is working exactly opposite from what it should. When we put the unit into A/C mode, the valve opens and allows full hot water flow through valve, thus heater core. When in HEAT the valve closes. This is NOT a solenoid valve, it's a servo driven valve, so there is not a possibility for crossed wiring, besides that part is all factory wired.

This servo is identical to the one that drives the Floor/Vent gate, and when swapped, it works in all appropriate positions for moving air. IT IS NOT DEFECTIVE SERVO. The servo can be removed easily from the hot water valve. We tried, for grins for the owners peace of mind, and rotated the valve 180 degrees. Of course it didnt work, I knew it would not. We are quite postive that the valve was manufactured wrong, that is, the arm that connects to the servo is 90 degrees off when it was press fitted. Has anyone experienced this problem?

The servo drives the valve from heat to cool positions as expected, however they are reversed. COOL opens valve, and heat closes it. Can anyone help? The unit was made in October 2002, but being put on a show winning hot rod, it is just now being installed.

Those things never work right. Every car I see that has a Vintage air in it has a manual valve on the heater hose to shut the hot water off.
