Leak Question

72PMD on Mon March 16, 2009 2:28 PM User is offline

Year: 72
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Refrigerant Type: R-12

Would a minute leak on a suction side hose (compressor to POA valve) that doesn't show under operation allow air to be pulled in during vacuuming? Upon dis-assembly, I blew about 30 psi into the tube-hose-tube sub-assembly, & noticed bubbles at the hose clamp connection. Would this pull air into the system? Thanks, Kevin

The generic answer will be yes. The evacuation of the system should remove any air yet you continue to draw air in with said leak during this process.
