Hi everyone,
I have been doing some repairs on my A/C system that has been converted to R-134A about 5 years ago. This time the condenser rusted out so the freon leaked away. I replaced the condenser and 2 of the pipes that lead to the compressor and also replaced the accumulator/drier. Before I put the system together, I added:
2oz of POE AutoBVA 100 oil into the condenser
2oz of POE AutoBVA 100 oil into the filter/drier.
The system takes 6.5oz of oil total.
My question is how much oil get "lost" during the evacuation process (vacuuming), and is that enough oil added to my system. I would assume there is 2.5oz still left in the system (compressor and the evaporator).
Should I add more oil?
Thanks!
You should be fine with the amount added as you will not lose much in the evacuation process.

TRB,
Thank You for your reply. I have chanrged the system and it appears to be working fine for now. We are still in 40s here in Michigan. We will see it in the summer when it hits 100F
Thanks again!
