AC blows hot air

Make: dodge
Model: stratus

have taken to mechanic twice no freon leaks. AC worked fine for mechanics. When girlfriend drives car car cold air stops and blows hot. Knowing there is no leak I messed with the controls and noticed the defrost blows ice cold but all ac settings would bow hot. The last thing I did was set it to defrost let it blow for awhile shut off the car. Set the settings to recirculate started the car and so far its been blowing cold. My girlfriend keeps the fan on low says if she runs it on high and the car warms up it blows hot. I was thinking a vacuum leak but I explained status of the car to mechanics I would think they would have found it if that were the case. They wanted to keep the car for a week to determine cause but being her only car she was unable to do so. Any advice would be appreciated.

With what you have listed I would put it on a scanner and check for some trouble codes. This type of system can have issues from clutch gap, refrigerant level to improper signals to the computer.
