Whats the best way to run the air-con when the blowers is directed on feet or windscreen

Year: 2006
Make: MG
Model: ZS
Country of Origin: United Kingdom

So ive got my air-con working as good as its going to go but unforntually i cant get full coldness if its going through the face vents so im just stuck with it going on the windscreen or directed at my feet,Or i guess i can have it set on both,Why am i asking this well if the coldness is going to be directed at feet its going to take it long for me to feel the differene in the air,So whats better having it on feet or windscreen or both?Is it best to have the blower going slow at 2 so the air has time to cool?

Conversley, the higher the fan speed, the higher the volume of air at a slightly higher temperature... I would say that the air is colder when on floor or demist because there is less volume of air entering the cabin... a low volume of very cold air may not cool the cabin as well as a blast of less cold air..

I find that I only need a low fan temperature with the vents set to demist otherwise it gets too cold in my van but it does have a bulkhead behind the seats... Maximum cabin cooling done by passing maximum air flow through the most vents

So what was done to your car then?

Thanks for your advice,I just cant wait till we get some good weather ive now had the car for 3 years and have never had the air-con working as it should.

Hi Karl

Well it seems its mainly my car that was at fault and not the air-con,The mechanic said its 150%better than when it went in,He said the sensor was really dirty so that was one of the problems,But the major problem is the heater dials are not moving fully to the right postion,He told me the best postion for it to get cold is the dial set to windscreen or set to feet,He has said the air from the face vents does get cold but not fully,He did tell me its a big job to fix the dials because the dashboard has to come out and if it was his he wouldn't bother.

He has has adjusted the vents as much as possible.

It was warm yesterday and i could tell it is working but the real test is when the sun comes and have left the car sitting in it,The vent temps are the same as before 44f
