Adding oil to dryer and condenser.

Hi chick,
I was only browsing through one of your many replies in which you said that adding oil to the condenser and /or dryer is not a problem. Are you saying that the oil will eventually go back to the compressor where it belongs and that adding ,the required amount of oil that is specified for the compressor, to the condenser and/or the dryer is o.k.?

Unless you have a compressor with a sump, like the older A6's to name one, the oil travels with the refrigerant and only a minimal amount stays in the compressor, so yes, add it anywhere in the system, it will get to the compressor, back out and then return as long as the system is fully charged.. Thats why both oil charge and refrigerant charge is critical to a proper working system...
