Set my pressures at idle will I bet okay?

chmura on Sat July 04, 2009 1:47 AM User is offline

Year: 2001
Make: Toyota
Model: Corolla
Engine Size: 1.8
Refrigerant Type: r134a
Ambient Temp: 85
Pressure Low: 30
Pressure High: 200

I replaced my condenser and installed a new drier and o-rings. So it was just a basic recharge.

I set my pressures at Idle. Will I be okay?

Low: 30
High: 200

I am getting a reading of 27F with a thermal gun out of my vents. This is normal since my ac always been really cold. I never set my blower higher then "2".

I'm sure the pressures are alittle higher at 1500 rpm but I think I should be okay.

But I'm no expert!

Thanks!

It's an '01, you fill it by weight, use the pressures to check operation after you're done.. Keep it simple, you evacuate and recharge the factory amount back into the system...make sure your fans are operating properly and the system cooling..

Well I filled up my AC with a 30lb r134a bottle. Not those little bottles you buy at your local parts store. So I cannot really tell how much I put in there by weight.

I just filled up my AC with the above mentioned pressures. I dont have a label under the hood with the proper ac specs since this car has been in an accident and all the oem stickers are gone.

That is what a scale is for, even a cheap bathroom scale is better than guessing! Reclaim and charge by weight as Chick mentioned.

Thanks for the tip.

I did not know you have to charge the system by weight. I did not have a oem ac sticket on the bottom of the hood since the hood has been replaced.

Anyhow the AC seems to work fine I rather not mess with it anymore.
