Amount of oil

Year: 1983
Make: Isuzu
Model: PUP
Engine Size: 2.2
Refrigerant Type: R-12
Country of Origin: United States

I was reading the thread below on the amount of oil and where to add. I think someone said to add 3.5 of of oil per pound of freon.. My system calls for 5 oz and it uses 30 oz of R-12. should I increase my oil up a couple of oz to about 7 oz. Because when I always disconnect the high side line I seem to loose a good squirt of R-12 and oil. Maybe I just never learned how to do it without loosing much. Most all of the Diesel Kiki compressors on these PuP's that I've run across on the 81, 81, and 83 are locked up like they were hurting for oil. These systems, even when they're good, seems to lack a little cooling unless they're on the road.

I add 1.5 ounces of extra ounces for conversions.
