What color orifice tube for 134a conversion?

redlightning93 on Mon July 13, 2009 11:13 PM User is offlineView users profile

Year: 1992
Make: Ford
Model: F150
Engine Size: 5.0
Country of Origin: United States

I am converting my '92 F150 to 134a and need recommendations for changing the o-tube. Ford calls for a Blue tube as a R-15 but wondering if I need to consider a different one after the conversion.

Thanks!

In my shop we've always just used the original orifice tube and the systems have worked fine. I've had some people say that you should use a little bit larger orifice and some say a little smaller orifice. Smaller makes more sense, but like I said, we've always used whats called out for the vehicle and been just fine.
