echeeves on Thu October 15, 2009 10:14 AM User is offline

Year: 2004
Make: toyota
Model: corolla
Refrigerant Type: 134
Ambient Temp: 80

The a/c on this car will blow very cold air when you first get going then after about 30 min of driving it will blow warm air for about 3 minutes and then starts cooling again. then it keeps doing this about every 5 - 10 min....any ideas? I am planning on bringing gauges next week when I come back to work. I just found out this morn and wanted to see if you guys had any Ideas... thanks....

When it gets to the "non-cooling" mode, pull over, leave it running, open the hood, and observe whether the compressor is engaged or not. Engaged means that the center section is turning, not just the outer pulley. Report back.

If you don't know what this looks like, observe at start up with both AC off and AC on, from your condition, you should be able to see the difference.
