R4 AC Compressor for Suburban

Cussboy on Tue January 19, 2010 7:37 PM User is offline

Year: 1994
Make: GMC Suburban
Model: Suburban
Engine Size: 5.7 lite
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Country of Origin: United States

Would Delphi CS0002 be considered among the best replacement R4 compressors for a 1994 GMC Suburban 2WD, or would something else be better? Delphi claims it's original equipment.

Should just be a CW compressor if it's a recent build.

Sorry: what's "CW" , don't know that term? And what's "a recent build" ?
Do you mean that if such compressor has been recently made that it would now be branded "CW" ?

Compressor Works, they started building most new R4's a few years back. Four Seasons has their own R4 but they do not supply Delphi.

Do you feel Compressor Works is a better R4 than Delphi, or might really be the same unit?

Last report I had was CW supplied Delphi with the R4 compressor.

We deal direct with CW and can get that compressor for about $200.00.

If you feel that's the best R4 for me, I'll contact you in late March/early April, I'm local, might just pick up in person. Or if you feel the one in your ackits.com link is better, please let me know.

My company is announcing layoffs in March so hopefully I'll survive that. But I need to fix that no matter what, and (as we here know) it starts heating up fast about that time....

Again most R4's are made by CW. I'll need to order one in so just give us a few days notice and we can get it in. We use many different vendors and it's hard to list everyone on our site. That why it is always good to email or call the staff as you never know what options we might have available beside the web's listings.
