allen6323 on Mon May 10, 2010 1:31 PM User is offline

Year: 1999
Make: dodge
Model: dakota
Engine Size: 2.5
Refrigerant Type: r134
Country of Origin: United States

All new parts. flushed evac, charge. first 15 minutes cools well and then at idle clutch cycles off 10seconds and on 10 seconds and not cooling as well. Did the tech put too much freon in or not enough?

What are the pressure readings? How much refrigerant did the tech install? How much oil is in the system?

If I knew that I could fix it myself, if I had the gauges. Its supposed to open on low at 25 and reset at 34-38 and opens high at 450-490 resets at 270-330. I know a guy with some gauges, so I guess that's what i'd better do. Any guesses on the freon being too much or not enough? Thx

No way to tell with the information provided. To little or to much can cause the compressor to cycle as mentioned. Pressure readings will help if you can get some readings!
