I'm trying to determine if there is any efficient way to drive a car/truck compressor other than off the flywheel.

Some hermetic compressor units seem efficient, but I don't know if any are large enough to generate even ten thousand BTU on a 12/24 volt system.

The 130v/300v Magnaflux systems have the capacity, but I'm not sure any power adapter module can run them off of a 12/24 volt source.

My F150 has plenty of room in various places, so I could just load it up with batteries, I guess. Some used Prius battery packs even looked affordable.

I'd love to review any good threads on this subject, and I've been told that there are several good ones here.

Many thanks in advance.

Use the google search feature above to search within this site. I found this and much more when doing so.
