unable to pull enough vacuum with 134a connects

Year: 1996
Make: Chevy
Model: C1500
Engine Size: 305/350
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Ambient Temp: 93
Pressure Low: dont
Pressure High: remember
Country of Origin: United States

Hello everyone,
Last year, I got one of the advanced starter kits from here at ACkits and charged retrofit my 91 camaro without a hitch. I'm in Montgomery, AL so at around 500 Ft above sea level, I was able to pull VERY close to the 29.9 bar mark on the gauge when evacuating the system. Mind you, I service the system prior to installing the 134a adapters. Works like a champ! Now, I've tried to pull a vacuum on two different 1996 Silverado using the 134a quick connects and I'm lucky if I can get below 22 bar. On top of that, i can hear hissing coming from the area of the quick-connects once I shut the system off and its worse if I giggle the connectors. I can't vacuum check these trucks for anything with the 134a connectors. How do I fix this?
Thanks,
Ross

Sounds like the coupler is not seating correctly.

So how do I FIX the problem? Does anyone at ACKits have a solution since I got the adapters from them?

Mastercool couplers and I don't hear of many issues with them. As stated check that something has not gotten in them or maybe even if a ball is stuck. Hard to tell what's going on over the Internet. But again sounds like it just not getting seated.
