Wishy Washers

Chewed 71'er on Wed August 11, 2010 6:16 AM User is offline

Year: 1993
Make: Oldsmobile
Model: Ciera
Engine Size: 3.3
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Country of Origin: United States

Just want to verify: is it okay to 'stack' sealing washers on GM HR6 compressors? Recently purchased a rebuilt compressor, came with offset pressure ports (one is counterbored). One thick and one thin washer (1 on each port) won't allow a flush seal. However, an additional thin washer stacked on the thick one looks like a perfect fit. Any problems with this setup? Thanks in advance.

they sell thicker washers at local parts stores, they come in black, green and red, maybe even more, but thats what you need, I would not "stack" them..

The seals that came for my Olds Royale are, + or -.002,
2 pcs Silver. - .045
1 pc Yellow- .105
1 p Red - .140
1 pc Green -.200
2 pcs Black - .115
These are the metal thickness and not rubber thickness.
