Hello:
I have a 2003 Tahoe with a 5.3 liter engine. I can only get warm air out of the AC system. I'm not a professional mechanic, but I'm a pretty good back yard mechanic. I'm a engineer by trade.
The compressor does not appear to activate, I say appear because it is hard to determine if the compressor is engage because of its location on a 5.3L engine.
I did recharge the system with a 12oz can of 134a - there is pressure in the system.
I have the Climate Control System with digital readout, I can't seem to get the * (snowflake symbol) to light without a slash through it. The owners manual states that a * with a slash through means that the AC has been manually shut off. When I put it in auto and set the temperature to 60 the air air is still very warm.
Any help is appreciated.

Please provide us with both high side (discharge) and low side (suction) pressure readings, and the ambient temperature they were taken at.
Pressure readings should be taken as follows:
Engine running at 1,500 RPM
Temperature selector on MAX cold and RECIRCULATE
Blower on HIGH
Door and windows OPEN
Otherwise the best we can do is WAG...
