Tim:

That idiot's retrofit video is even worse. He spends more time on the retro-sticker than the rest of the job! Install those death kits! It's easy!

More work for us I guess. The local chain store was selling "super seal" two at a time today. Watched the guy in front of me buy more than 100 bucks worth of "magic in a can" - 2 super sealers, cans of refrigerant w/ additives... and a single gauge tool to put it in with. System will be junk end to end once he is done.

Death kits are used less often - but the hardening sealer seems to be on everyone's counter anymore.

Kinda like the Oriley add that says that it's as easy as putting air in a tire. Anydody else hear the compressor grinding when the clutch engaged?

The additive will fix that.

I guess if he says "proper service procedure" repeatedly then that makes it right. There is nothing proper about any of this at all that's a proper service procedure. I don't see anything about changing the oil, and notice how he's shaking the cans upside down, liquid slugging the compressor. No word on what happened to the R-12 in the system, and issues and legalities concerning mixing refrigerants.

Doubt even the death kit instructions are this bad.

I don't know what's worse, this ignorant fool, or the ignorant fools who will be following this fool into destroying their air conditioning systems, and thinking this video is so great.

Oh well, you know what they say about fools and their money... I can also now understand why this country is in such a disastrous state from an electoral standpoint and why we have the government we have. And imagine, these people vote.

Beanie and Pro Tec shirt. 2 required items for a proper a/c service.

And don't forget, the PRO-TEC needs to be in big, bright red bold letters... adds greater emphasis to his expertise to avoid any confusion.

Maybe he's providing this DIY video to ensure future business for his or his buddy's A/C shop. Those procedures assure a steady stream of systems in need of four figure work.
