AC hoses

Does anyone know where I can get crimp style fittings for use with stainless braided AC hoses? I have seen them on one car at a local show but the owner did not know where they came from. (he bought the car complete) I want to keep the braided hose look for under the hood of my 38 and our local hot rod shop warned against reuseable fittings as they are notorious for leaking.

Crimp fitting are not universal and neither are the reusable. If not properly installed either will leak, but properly they do not. For a similar application I have used Parker (919) Teflon lined braided stainless hose with its matched crimp or reusable fittings; but we were using flare fittings. You may want to take a a look at what is available from Earl's.

You could sleeve the rubber hose with a braided covering.
Here's mine.

Just a cheaper option anyway.
