Orifice tube issue

TH0R on Tue November 01, 2011 3:12 PM User is offline

Year: 95
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Impala SS
Engine Size: 5.7L
Refrigerant Type: 134a
Country of Origin: United States

I have a new condenser for my car. The old one had crimps in it to stop the orifice tube from going too far in. The new one does not the orifice tube fits and everything but I can push it in a long way. Is this ok? Is this regular for replacement condensers?

Flow of refrigerant will push the OT back toward the hose/liquid line. If I'm not mistaken.

That is what I was thinking. Thanks for the info!

System will equalize when shut off. But I really don't see an issue. If you feel there is one. Use a wooden dowel and punch and create your own dimple point.
