flushed OE condenser with Hecat flush. Nothing bad came out, but I got to wondering if I should trust this 31yr old condenser? Rebuilding system, everything new except cond & evap. Condenser wasn't leaking and was doing the job intended. What's the normal lifetime for OE condensers?

If you are staying with R-12 refrigerant and it don't leak, you will be fine.
Yep, R12. Haven't evacuated it yet, tho. thanks Jack, I appreciate the response.

Run your fingers along the fins to make sure that the fins are still bonded to the tubes.
'81 F100 rebuild turned out fine. Evacuated it 3x and each time it held same reading after a 15min waiting period. Recharged with R12 today. Pressures: 31low/195 high. 83dg ambient. 42dg from registers.
Thank you to all who helped! I appreciate it.
(Car next. Got a bit of a bleed somewhere in it's system. If I have to get into it, I'll go back to R12. I converted it to 134 in '98)

Still trusting the condenser in my 82 P-30, along with the radiator, oil cooling system, hydro boost cooler, and the AT cooler, plus the evaporator and the heater core. Latter are really weird looking components, wouldn't even know where to start to look for replacements.
Really not going to worry about it, critical ones are brass. But when it comes to trusting, getting edgy about trusting my doctors.
