I need help, My air conditioner in my car blows hot then cold then hot, it's weird the indicator light turns off and it blows warm then turns on and blows cold. It's been to the show twice and no one seems to know what i'm talking about. I have no problem with my heat in the winter it's just the air. I had the refrigerent checked it's fine. any ideas?

I don't have much knowledge on ac but could it be the ac switch? If it is shorting out then it might work once in a while.

By indicator light do you mean the light on the AC button? If so check the switch.

Someone checked the refrigerant and then threw up his hands?????? Did this someone evacuate and weigh the refrigerant - that's the only real way to tell. Pressures can give an indication.

Is your AC clutch slipping? Is your belt slipping?

Sounds like poor or dirty contacts in the a/c switch on the control head from here-

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

I would tend to agree since the light goes out it's likely the control panel itself. If it's the old fashioned mechanical manual controls, the A/C circuit also goes through the fan switch (fan must be on any setting other than off for A/C light to come on and compressor engage). If it gets cold once the refrigerant is OK.
