Need a compressor manifold plate gasket for 1985 Toyota MR2

Year: 1985
Make: Toyota
Model: MR2
Engine Size: 1600
Refrigerant Type: R12

I need the manifold plate gasket for my 1985 Toyota MR2 with a Denso 10P13C compressor. I have a new compressor and it came with an o-ring kit, but what appears to be the manifold gasket is much smaller than the one on my compressor. I also have another o-ring kit for the car and it has the same smaller gasket. Repair manuals don't even mention this gasket and Toyota parts diagrams don't show this part separately. The manifold assembly is no longer available from Toyota. Someone on a MR2 forum told me the manifold gasket in the kits fits only the 88-89 compressors and the earlier gasket is very hard to find. Well, I need to find one...

I see ackits.com sells a CoolPro CP3024 o-ring kit for 1985 and prior Asian cars but the picture is poor so it's hard to see what is actually in the kit. I found a CoolPro CP3008 kit on other websites for 86-04 imports that says it also has the manifold plate gasket found in Denso compressors. But I can't tell if it's the right one. The one I need is rectangular and measures approx 88mm x 56mm. The ones that don't fit are approx 42 x 32 mm.
I'll try and post a pic. Thanks!

I don't see that gasket in any of my catalogs either. Looks like quite a few bolts holding that plate down, I would suggest buying some oring cord that fits nicely (make sure it will be crushed upon assembly, lay it into the groove, and cut to fit. If you cut it diagonally then you can carefully superglue the cut ends together and it should hold nicely. Just don¨t get any superglue on the outside of the oring and you should be fine. Are all the other kit components the correct size?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into o-ring cord! I think at least some of the other o-rings in my kits are correct.

Or buy a standard round o-ring with the proper circumference and bend it around the corners. I don't know if superglue is compatible with refrigerant.

There is a round o-ring that fits. Someone on the MR2 forum told me McMaster-Car PN 94115k153 is a round o-ring that will fit perfectly. They come on a bag of 20 for $12.88 so I guess I'll be set for life!

I found someone who bought a bag of 20 and he will send me one free when I send him a SASE!
