Hi All,

I need some help with adjusting the POA valve from my 71 Corvette for R134a. I've read just about every post here regarding POA valves and adjusting them for R134a. However, my POA valve doesn't seem to have the nut and screw that most say are the adjustments. Mine has the nut, but no screw in the center of the nut. The nut is securing what looks like a metal plate about 3/8" square.

Here is the other (top) end.

There's a date code on the side of the valve, 4 25 71. And a model number; F 0602

I would appreciate any help.

Is there a opening for an allen wrench? If so, take a socket to the nut while holding the screw with the allen wrench and loosen the nut. Then trun the allen wrench 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Then hold the allen wrench and tighten the nut. You have to find a way to hold the screw from turning while loosening and tightening the nut. I have never come across one like that.
