Maximum time between installing new Drier and charging?

Year: 1971
Make: Chevy
Model: Corevette
Engine Size: 454
Refrigerant Type: R134
Ambient Temp: 75
Country of Origin: United States

Is there a maximum time between installing a new drier (and closing up the system) and charging it? I'm rebuilding my AC and have a new drier which I plan on installing last. But I may not be able to get to an AC shop for a few days after that. So the system would be closed, but empty.

No big deal- take all the time you want- as long as it is closed.

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
