System-Safe leak sealer?????

Pressure Low: System

Want to the store today to buy leak detector, the UV kind. It was not available at this store without additives such as System-Safe leak sealer. Four different products all had this System-Safe leak sealer in it. I couldn't buy what I wanted without it. So I went out empty handed. They also carried the infamous Super Sealer you all detest so much and for good reasons. With so many products on the market (all by InterD) is this stuff safe? Does it do as much harm as SUPER SEALER?

Buy a can of name brand (DuPont, Johnsen's, etc.) R-134a with UV dye. Those cans contain only R-134a and dye. Follow the instructions-- you have to hold the can upside down to get the dye to come out and go into the car.

If system is completely empty, you can just open a connection and pour in liquid dye, close up, evacuate and charge. Systems found with zero pressure should have the leak found by static methods first.

Yes, these products are safe. Safe as long as you do NOT open the can.

Do not use sealers !
