YES!! I smoke.. I used to order on line from dirtcheapcig.com..Seems they must went out of business...I was happy with the prices ($9+ change a carton) and second day air. New Jersey charges anywhere from$5.50 a pack to over seven dollars.. After my heart surgery, I have to save money, so "question" anyone deal with an online company they have personal knowledge of honesty? I'd hate to order from a scam company...Let me know if you can...

Oh, and please, no preaching..No one gets out of this world alive anyway...

I went to the shop for a pint of milk for myself and a pack of 20 ciggies for my buddy a few days ago, I almost fell over backwards when the cigarettes cost over £5

Man, I remember when my Dad used to send me to the gas station by the house when i was a kid with 15 cents to get him a pack of Marlboro Red, and when they went up to 25 cents he threatened to quit but never did and smoke two to three packs a day until they finally killed him back in 1990. He use to tell me that his Doctor told him he really needed to quit and my dad would tell me that he was going to keep smoking and out live his Doctor and get another Doctor of course it did not work out that way.

Hey Chick,
I have some bad news for you bud.
Seems that the great US govt decided that you cannot make cigarette purchases with a credit card anymore and UPS and Fedex won't deliver tobacco products anymore.

Listening to New Orleans radio is really something.....The goofy Govenor wants a dollar per pack cigarette tax to give the teachers a $1000 per year raise, she also backs a ban on smoking in all public places...they are spending millions on advertising against "second hand smoke". This just dosen't make any sense whatsoever. I don't think she wants to give anybody a raise...

The State money manager just "found" $193 MILLION in extra gas and oil revenue, but the Gov. claims they can't put teacher pay raises in the budget, because the money might not be there next year...Shazzamm!!! Wonder where it would go? :-)

Wonder what happened to all that lottery money that was going to give teachers raises 12 years ago? Sounds like they have succeded in demonizing a legal product and it's users, so it's OK to disscrimanate and rip those filthy smokers off.....Wonder who they will tell us to hate in 20yrs.?

It's funny how these crooked politicians never lose their craving for more money...

What the anti-smoking people fail to realize is that non-smokers are actually getting a free ride.

They don't understand that smokers generate billions of dollars in tax revenue every year.
Should smoking become a thing of the past or the anti-smoking people get their way and smoking is all but gone, then someone has to pick up the tab for the money that will be lost in tax revenues.

Let's put it in a different perspective, imagine you are the smoker and you generate 70% of your household. Now, your wife is the anti-smoking group/non-smokers and generates 30% of the household income.

Now, take away your income and how does the household survive? It doesn't, without bringing income from an outside source or making the anti-smoking/non-smoker pony up more money to support the household. See the impact on non-smokers?

Exactly Tony. If the tax dollars disappear, then everybody would get out and push the wagon to make it up.

They (in Luzianna) are even proposing a tax on toliet paper, now most people do use that, even in Luzianna. :-)

Tony,

Your theory is sound in a sane world, however every government knows that they can slap as much tax as they wish on to cigarettes, safe in the knowlage that the majority of smokers will grumble and complain and cough up the extra dough for their pack of 20 (Pun intended). They know that some will give up smoking, but the majority will carry on regardless, this is a nice little earner for the government for very little work. Similarly petrol (Gas) is another good tax earner, what are you gonna do? Walk? They have you by the short hairs and make no mistake about it.

That's right Karl.....Toilet Paper!!!

The Luzianna politicians started out a few months ago proposing an increase in the Booze Tax, and 50cent per increase per pack on cigs...the Bar Owners voiced their displeasure with this...funny, the taxes on Booze haven't been raised in 40+ years, even though alot of innocent people get killed because of drunks behind the wheel, and alot of folks go to New Orleans to get wasted...so anyway the Gov. dosen't want to piss off those guys, who cares how many people get killed, so it's gonna be a Dollar per pack...it's for the children!!!, everybody hates smokers anyway, and nobody will dare to stand up for the smoker, so, I see another class of people created, for the purpose of ripping that class off.

Hey, how about taxing Jewlery, or Makeup? They won't notice....:-) Then you might be able to tell the good lookin gals from the dogs......or in New Orleans, the guys from the gals....:-)

Chick, you might want to consider doing what I did about 30 years ago and move from NJ to NC. It's a little like living in NJ with the clock turned back about 20 years - still has farms and greenery but is heading towards being overbuilt. Temps are a few degrees warmer and the piedmont area has a serious case of the muggies in summer but everything is air conditioned anyway so unless you're a golf fanatic it doesn't matter. Marlboro reds went for $.35 a pack when I came down but they still sell everywhere here for under $3.00 a pack so our habit is sustainable. If you wanted a lecture on how bad cigs can screw you up I could give you lots of first hand info but I'm sure you, like me, don't want to hear it so I'll just say "Good Luck" and come on down!
Regards,
Chris

lol, BigChris. You can also grow your own in NC. Tobacco used to be the main export (aside from conservative senators).

You'd be surprised where tobacco can grow.
I have a bunch of tobacco seeds. One of these days, I am going to grow them and make my own cigars.

Karl,
The anit-smoking consortium will push until they have abolished tobacco and right now, there is a large group that is pushing to abolish tobacco and alcohol.
They must protect us ignorant people from ourselves.
I'm not talking about them adding taxes, I am talking about these groups of morons who want to ban tobacco entirely.
Then those of us who use tobacco products will be druggies and criminals.

The problem is, most people will sit back and do nothing. Then freak out when all the sudden something they care about is gone.

The people of Oregon sat back when the seat belt law went to vote, safe in the knowledge that it wouldn't pass, yet the legislature passed the law with 47% for vote.
Now I don't know about you, but my math says that 47% is less than a majority.
