Don't take life seriously... Its not permanent.
That's exactly what I see when I look down at my gauge now.

Ha, what I am hearing on the news today is an exact replay of what was said back in the 70's during that so-called energy crisis. There was talk back then about hybrids, hydrogen powered cars, smaller fuel efficient cars, fuel cells, ride sharing, etc., etc., etc. They are still saying the Japanese are ahead of us in fuel economy today just like they were 30 some years ago.
What was new is that todays vehicles are getting poorer gas mileage than vehicles made in the 80's. Another guy said we have plenty of our own fuel, if only the environmentalists, (such a misuse of that word, crooks and corrupted people is a better name for it.) would let us drill for it.
Talk about R-12 today, were equally screwed if you drove a pre-1972 vehicle that required leaded gas, I helped my 70 Rivera by installing Canadian head gaskets so I could burn leaded regular, Canada never sold high octane fuel, the engine was the same, just used a thicker head gasket to reduce the compression ratio from 10.5 to a more reasonable 8.75. But what they didn't tell you was the quantity of lead put in so-called leaded gas was slowly reduced to 10% of its original value, this played hell on the exhaust valves.
Ha, all I can say about back then, all kinds of new engineering challenges that never came to past, same old crap today as even 50 years ago, except back then, a large V-8 would get you there at 75 mph only running on four cylinders. Today, if one spark plug fails, dang thing won't run at all, and they call that progress. Also we had to learn to drive with our knees in our chin, but they fixed that with trucks that don't have to meet EPA and CAFE requirements due to a separate ruling. Just more BS.
But they got us where they want us.
