Using refrigerant to lift vinyl flooring?

zuperdee on Sat October 15, 2005 3:45 AM User is offline

Well, I am wondering now: since dry ice is supposedly very effective at helping to remove vinyl tile, would spraying refrigerant on it work just as well? What sort of refrigerant should I try? Should I use gas, or liquid? (I.e., can right-side up, or upside-down?)

Before anyone gets in a tizzy about it: I intend to vent this refrigerant into the atmosphere LEGALLY, by discharging it from duster cans I can get at Fry's Electronics.

With that in mind: Will it work? Should I use R-134a or R-152a, and should I use liquid or gas?

Dry ice would be cheaper, faster and safer so why not use it?
