Message from HECAT

HECAT on Tue March 13, 2007 2:30 PM User is offline

Good Day to All,

In some recent posts, with my questions, I have apparently offended some of the senior and most professional posters, and for this I must sincerely apologize. The secondary issue that concerns me more is the perception was voiced that I am only here to only promote product and not to help. This has bothered me so much that I feel compelled to explain why I am here, who I am, and what is Hecat.

Why am I here? Tim has marketed the Hecat products for many years. I do not need to be here to market my product as I am comfortable with the efforts put forth by Tim & AMA. Tim and I both believe that the Hecat product offering is the best flushing equipment available today and it fits with Tim's business strategy of only offering products he believes in, uses, and that serve to help his customers. As Tim and I had many conversations over the years regarding flushing issues, he eventually asked me to join in the Forum and offer my professional OPINIONS and helpful insight regarding flushing.

Who am I? I was an ASE Master Certified Tech in the early eighties but moved to heavy equipment and hydraulics, eventually putting up my toolbox, finishing school, and moving into fluid power sales & engineering. I am currently the Vice President, part Owner, and engineering lead at Hecat. I do not pretend to be versed in the computer diagnostic issues of today's cars and hope to continue learning more here about servicing issues you face everyday related to current car technology.

What is Hecat? Hecat is celebrating its 25th year as the only manufacturer 100% focussed on flushing heat exchangers. My fluid power background gives me a true understanding of the physics laws and principles necessary to achieve successful internal heat exchanger cleaning. Hecat is constantly recognized as the leader in this field by OEM, Aftermarket, and Aerospace inquiries and offerings of heat exchanger cleaning problems in need of solutions, and we deliver. Many of these projects must remain confidential as they include confidentiality agreements, future, and proprietary heat exchanger designs; but I will share what we have learned when I can.

I felt it was important from the start, that I use HECAT as my name rather than an anonymous one, to prevent anyone from getting the perception that I was here under any false pretense. I am here to help and I will continue to offer my comments and opinions as well as listen to yours. I hope we can continue to debate (not argue) the issues and share with each other the vast knowledge contained within this small community. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I just needed to say it, and no response is necessary.

Thanks,

Karl Matis

I for one am normally quite sensitive to those who are simply on a site to push their own interests and products, perhaps it is because we on this side of the pond are not quite so used to being pressurised by marketeers though this is changing... I must say that I have not noticed you consiously promoting your products and regard you as just another member of the board who also makes and sells flushing equipment just as I am just another member of the board who also installs domestic ac, is a domestic gas fitter and shortly will provide a much needed service of repairing automotive air con pipes and hoses...Its just what I do.

True you do have a tiny section highligting what you do but this is because you have a good working relationship with Tim and he feels that what you bring to this board is of benefit to all of the members. If someone buys your flushing equipment then it is their decisision and I do not feel that in your case you have tried to sway them in any way, though a sale is always very nice

Perhaps it would be better to move the entire topic if we can. I simply replied to HECATS post, not really considerd who else would see it. It is the reason why I like this site so much... No one is trying to sell me anything and I'm not trying to sell anything to anyone else. Perhaps I missed the post where HECAT offended someone but again, I have never noticed that he deliberately tries to do this.

Programs like Dean Martin's Roast were hilariously offensive, and surprised at times, Bush doesn't have John Stewart shot, LOL. Grade and high school remarks were always very offensive, some kids were down right mean. But really enjoyed my military days, buddies and I tried to be as offensive as possible to each other, but was all in good fun to relieve the tension. Such little things like, ha, you just broke the long time axiom as no such thing as a stupid question, that's the most stupidest dumbest question I have ever heard. Practically all others, LOL, can't repeat here, would be banned from the board.

Industry was consisted of uptight people, always had to be extremely careful what you said and how you said it and even an off color remark could end you up in court.

Just saying that being offensive can be down right degrading, or very very funny, depends upon how uptight the readers are and how a post is read.

Tim, I thought the Moderator & Private Chat Forum would be the appropriate place to address all the Senior Members and Posters. Since this may not be so, and if you feel it is appropriate; please feel free to move this post elsewhere for others to see.

Ha, if you move this topic, is it okay that the cat takes the two dogs with him?

Cats and dogs fighting is really a myth, never had that problem, more like husbands and wifes fight, LOL.
