A/C problems

cdenil on Mon July 30, 2007 7:25 PM User is offline

Year: 2001
Make: Chevy
Model: Tahoe

Sorry I don't have all the readings but here is my problem. For the last 2 years the A/C hasn't worked in the rear of my 2001 Tahoe (it blows warm air and heat but not cooled). About 2 weeks ago the front stopped working all together. We restarted it and it again worked for about 1 or 2 days. Now it doesn't blow out anything. Any suggestions? I checked the fuses about 4 weeks ago to see if that was the reason behind the back not working correctly. All were ok. I'm hoping not to have to take it to a dealer.

In a vehicle with rear air, a low charge (maybe a leak) will first present itself as "no rear air".

What do you mean by "restarting it again"? What was done?

I restarted the engine and the a/c would work in the front. That was for about a week. Now the front doesn't blow at all (hot or cold air). The rear does still blows warm air when it should be cold and hot when the heat is on.

Since this is an AC site with an off topic section, is an valid AC problem really off topic? Sounds like you have a massive leak, try the general section as the key techs normally do not come here for off topic discussions.
