Hilary says.....

UK Tech on Wed February 13, 2008 1:58 PM User is offline

Year: 2008
Make: David Letterman
Country of Origin: United States

Hilary Clinton was on the Dave Letterman show last night (it may be an old one, as they keep showing repeats here). But she was saying that a lot of obese people were poor, and the reason they were fat was because they don't have access to decent food, so have to eat junk.

Is it true that in their neighbourhoods there are no food shops, only fast food outlets? Or are there food shops, but they only sell crisps, biscuits and soda?

Mind you, she didn't say how she would fix it. Maybe she can build some new food stores, tell them what they must sell, and close down fast food places. It sounds like a communist system - telling people what they can eat, and only making available certain food.

And there was me thinking it may be because they're lazy and can't be bothered to cook any proper grub.

My wife is watching some of the debates, she doesn't like Hilary because she says lots of stupid stuff, I agree with my wife, but the people in New York, Massachusetts, and California apparently love her, could be because the are also stupid. I would just consider the source and feel that she and her husband are puppets of the Chinese government.

Yes Dave, there is some truth to that statement. Inner cities are usually short on big grocery stores, and some poor people have to rely on public transportation to get around. Small neighborhood "mom-and-pop" stores generally stock more convenience items and are short on fresh fruit and veggies. Yes, and many fat people are too lazy and stupid to cook healthy food from scratch even when they can get it.

Good thing you said many instead of all. Some of us try like heck to lose a pound! Only to gain one back if we take a deep breath!

Blame however you want but I blame the parents. It's easier to swing by McDonald's and shove the kids in front of the TV. Then cook them a meal and have them playing outside. Plus they need to save the welfare money for important things like cigs and booze. The kids meal at $ 4.00 is a heck of a deal with a toy and food. Why do you think they call it a value menu and not a healthy menu?

If Macs or any other fast food restaurant depended on people like me to make a living, well Macs would sell zero hamburgers per year. We have three very large grocery stores in town all loaded with junk food, junk food is very expensive, again if those aisles depended on me for business, those stores would have to be 1/3 the size.

Have to walk clear to the back for the diary department in all three stores, then clear to the front for produce, meats and fish, wife buy all fresh produce, ha, I am lazy and buy Birds Eye vegetables, already cut and clean and the best of the crop and run a little over a buck a pound, costs three bucks per pound for potato chips and that other yucky stuff.

Is breathing air a cause for weight gain? Wife said our dog is getting fat, I said no, so I got on the scale and tipped it at 215, holding Derik, hit 300, Derik is right on the money 25 1/2 inches at the shoulder, 85 pounds, the German Shepherd standard. I am the one that is fat, 15 pounds overweight. Well, wife said I don't look it, very tall. Better get another project to work on.

Well if you take every thing I say literally. As far as I know at this time breathing does not cause weight gain!

Maybe under McCain/Clinton/Obama and Kyoto/Carbon Taxes/Ethanol/Etc. we can "reform" our economy so an abundant and cheap food supply won't cause obesity. Then we can be like the rest of the world...
