Compressor recommendation
Got tired of belt issues and the H6 compressors that constantly leak at the seams, and I'm converting the 87 R30 to a serpentine setup. The kit uses the brackets from a 95-later 5.7 engine from a Chevy/GM truck. The compressor mounts with 4 bolts that go vertically from the top, through the compress...

Re: 2005 Dodge 3500 AC issue
Cooling fan engaging? Sounds like you aren't pulling enough heat out of the condenser. Try misting it with water and see if the pressures come back down.
How were you able to fill it if the pressures spike after 30-45 seconds?

I was looking at the belt routing on the Sanden that is in my 1999 Beetle 2.0 and it runs CCW. It works great.

1999 VW Beetle oil capacity
Hi, R&R compressor due to bad bearing on the outside of the clutch. System was working well. Because I had it open, I'm replacing the expansion valve and receiver/drier at the same time. Compressor sump had over 2oz of oil in it (almost 2.5oz recovered). There was at least 3 oz that dumped all o...

Re: Need Help- High Pressure on Discharge Side
First place to look with excessive high-side pressures is airflow over the condenser. Try again and mist it with water and see if pressures drop.

Re: Black death? Dry soot?
Thanks guys. I replaced the OT and the accumulator. I did flush out the evap and the condenser and didn't really get anything out of them. Refilled with oil and vac'd it out and charged it up and things are working nicely again.

When I reworked my '87, I got the lines through ackits. Just email them through the website and he can get you the correct part. Mine was factory equipped with the H6 compressor.

Re: Black death? Dry soot?
No. It just quit blowing cold. There were signs of oil around the body of the compressor and on my valve cover. Compressor still spun freely when I turned it over by hand.JohnHere wrote:Did the compressor seize when you began having trouble with it?
