Re: How to figure out oil amount for custom system?

16 Oz of R134a by weight is 12.09 fluid Oz Thanks helpful! The terminology fl of vs weight oz doesn't seem to me consistent. Like the MACS article uses fl oz of oil and ratios it to weight of refrigerant. The Sanden ORC calculation uses only weight. Since in oil 1 fl oz weighs about .94 oz maybe it...

Testing Micron gauges

With all the talk in other thread about micron values, I'll be trying out a few Micron gauges to select one. Interesting behavior with the two gauges I received so far. When Gauge A is connected to vacuum pump and Gauge B by a tee , Gauge A reads much lower. VP Vacuum Pump T tee M microns Gauge A - ...

Re: AC HOSES

Thanks for the pics. Out of my expertise as the schematic and images you provided are not what I would expect. Hopefully one of the more experienced folks will come along and share their wisdom. Since yours is a different situation that the original post, the moderators may suggest a separate topic ...

Re: How many amps does a FS10 clutch need, and polarity?

re: Tim relay comment, yes will run through relay and will use a smaller fuse Tested the clutch with +12V to pink (closest to locking tab) because it is color-closer to red than the other wire which is gray, which is color-closer to black, which got the -V (gnd) Draw was 4.5A Over 5ft one-way length...

Re: How to figure out oil amount for custom system?

Sanden Info is based on oil circulation ratio OCR with 1 to 3 ounces remaining in the swashplate compressor crankcase and cling oil remains in AC components. OCR = weight of oil in circulation at any moment divided by weight of both oil and refrigerant in circulation and varies with operating condi...

How many amps does a FS10 clutch need, and polarity?

Want to make sure I wire enough capacity for the clutch. Just got the pigtail for the FS10 compressor. The wire is 2.08mm which is 14AWG, that's like 12-14A. The last compressor used a really thin clutch activation wire like a 20?AWG Also, research indicates the 2 wires one is + and one - (ground). ...

Re: Vintage AC System Questions

. I have replaced all the components in the AC system with stock components (Condenser, Evaporator, VIR, hoses and compressor ). The compressor is a Pro6ten compressor with the superheat feature like the original and is the only nonstock item in the system . Is the compressor stock or not stock? Al...
