Flushing the accumulator\drier

ferg on Mon August 13, 2007 2:00 PM User is offline

Year: 82
Make: chevy
Model: truck
Engine Size: 350
Refrigerant Type: r12

Can it be flushed with thinner the same as the other components? IT's a newer drier, so I am going to convert to 134 while I have everything apart.

No, it must be replaced. You'd never get all the solvent out, and it becomes useless anyway once it has been open for more than a short while because it will have absorbed water from the air.

Kind of positively, absolutely, and indubitably make sure you have an R-134a compatible accumulator as well. May save your compressor from a catastrophic complete heck of a mess expensive to replace and repair failure.

LOL.... OK, will do.

Thanks Fellas
