After an R-12 service check I need a tip on how to best remove the high side hose without loosing gas and oil all over the area of the car. I'm used to the new 134a connectors. Am I in too big of a hurry and let the pressure equalize a little? Thanks.
why not buy the - "freezeless check valves" that attache to your current hoses- or buy hoses with themn already on them-- Mine have had them on them for 20 years-- no refigerant venting, no loss of vacuum, no need to bleed air out of lines..........

The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......
