Windstar no air blowing thru vents

jgcox6 on Thu August 30, 2007 10:13 AM User is offline

Year: 1998
Make: FORD
Model: WINDSTAR
Refrigerant Type: 134
Ambient Temp: 95
Country of Origin: United States

98 WINDSTAR does not blow air out the vents. Blower motor works on defrost, just won't blow through the vents? I am thinking an acutator or vacuum line. I have looked and listened for vacuum leaks to no avail...hoping for help on the acutators and locations, or any common problem with these vehicles.

Your windstar uses vacuum to control the blend doors. Check under the dash for a line that may have fallen off (evap box area) and under the hood. Start from the vacuum source (engine) and work your way back to the firewall. There will be a broken, cracked or disconnected vacuum line somewhere.. Also check the vacuum reservoir (canister) for cracks, broken lines etc..Hope this helps..

Like Chick said, probably the main line under the hood is bad if none of the vacuum-operated controls work.
