Camry heater core help

Sorry to post a heater question on an AC forum, but I've run out of options. Toyota expert needed here! Where the heater core inlet and outlets meet the firewall tubes, there is a fine junction that is supposed to be held together by small clip...that's under 13 lbs of pressure. Well, one of them has a fine leak at the junction, even using new O rings and new clips. Does anyone have a tip on how to compress the junction even tighter, or suggest possibly a little RTV at the joint? The union of the pipes is pretty tight, but not so tight that they won't leak if moved slightly. thanks.
