under dash ac unit

westtexus on Sun March 30, 2008 6:41 PM User is offline

I was wondering if an underdash add-on ac unit with the evaporator inside needed to be mounted flat or if it will work mounted on it's end, so the air will blow upward. I have an old International truck I want to put air in, and I think with an add on under dash unit, have hoses made, and install other components it can be done.

There is no room under the dash, as the engine cover does not leave enough space. I can mount it from the ceiling, or up on end between the seats, against the rear of the cab. This way would be easier, and make running hoses much simpler.

Is this a workable plan, or should I suspend it from the ceiling?

Thanks in advance

Too much angle will allow the condensation to pour over and out you blower motor/cage. What year and model international?
