I am using an old GM engine in a project that has an apparently good A6 compressor. I drained the oil from the A6 and it was clean and it has vacuum and pressure when it is turned. I will be using barrier hoses, a HotRod Air Heat/Cool/Defrost unit, a 14x24 PF condensor along with proper pressure switches and use r134. I can buy the kit with or without a Sanden 508 compressor. I would prefer not to and use the A6 to save a few bucks. Any reason why I should not use the A6?
Thanks,
Bob
I obviously am no AC guy and completely talking out of my ass here but...... The A6 is big and heavy, takes a ton of HP to run and the front seals leak like stuck pigs.....Not to mention they really aren't supposed to "cycle" on and off like the new style compressors. I would stick with the Sanden that comes in the Hot Rod Air kits.
