Lincoln Mark VII A/C Tools

Year: 1991
Make: Lincoln
Model: Mark VII
Refrigerant Type: R12

I'm looking for an evaporator/condenser Leak Test Adapter Kit. Part number per Lincoln shop manual is D88P-19703-B. This tool allows one to seal off the component and put it under vacuum for leak testing. Anyone know where I can pick one up? Got a leak some place and can't seem to find it with an electronic leak detector.

If you cannot find the specific kit you are looking for, this one will do what you want to do. Download the PDF file and take a look at the rubber cones and other details.

Oops, you told me not to do that, and I did it anyway. Thanks for fixing it.

If you intend to perform this test, suggest to flush the evaporator prior to testing. A leaking system will allow for an excess of lubricant to settle in the evap. This extra lube may actually 'seal' a possible leak area. Flush with a good flush, dry the evap and then test the system. When testing test as a vac....and the test with 134a added to the evap.
This test is a great test to use on any vehicle when the evap is 'suspect'.
Good luck
