Service manual for V5

Engine Size: 3.8

Does anyone know of a PDF or online service manual for the GM V5 compressor?

There is a section in the vehicle OEM service manual on the compressor service- shows everything that is serviceable and the tools needed to do the work. They are available from Helms.

-------------------------
The number one A/C diagnostic tool there is- is to know how much refrigerant is in the system- this can only be done by recovering and weighing the refrigerant!!
Just a thought.... 65% of A/C failures in my 3200 car diagnostic database (GM vehicles) are due to loss of refrigerant due to a leak......

You can find the Helm manual here

Yes, but I don't want to buy the $130 service manual for the page or two that I need :-/

Copyrighted material is tough to get for free-- try your local library- or buddy up to a dealership- or ask for anything specific you wish to know- we can probably step you through it..

Too bad that all manufacturers are not like Kia and Hyundai. All their maintenance manuals are available for free online viewing.

For a short period of time Daewoo manuals including A/C and V5 were available online but the site is now shut down.

well, it seems I'm eternally grateful to retrofitft> for pointing me in the right direction
The unit repair section for the v5 is available in the daewoo manual located at:

http://www.anagabriela.ro/Manuale%20Daewoo/Lacetti/Service%20Manual/8.%20HVAC%20(HEATING,%20VENTILATION,%20AND%20AIR%20CONDITIONING)/2.%20MANUAL%20CONTROL%20HEATING,%20VENTILATION,%20AND%20AIR%20CONDITIONING%20SYSTEM.pdf

It starts at page 37 with a beautiful exploded diagram. I hope this helps others who are held hostage by the Automotive AC repair info mafia :-/ Of course the consumer Chiltons manuals omit any repair info on the AC system, but I expected the ALLDATA system to have it - NOT!
Alldata was better with the clutch and shaft seal repair info, but not the compressor itself.

Information wants to be free!
