Compressor Oil

abbouddi on Sat February 28, 2009 2:39 AM User is offline

Year: 2007
Make: Mazda
Model: 6
Engine Size: 2000
Refrigerant Type: R134a
Ambient Temp: 30
Pressure Low: 17 psi
Pressure High: 220 psi
Country of Origin: Saudi Arabia

I want to add some refrigerant to my system, but as per workshop manual it is mentioned to remove all old refrigerant, and refill by weight (around 470 g). My question is that when I remove the old refrigerant a little quantity oil will be out with the refrigerant, do I have to refill some oil with new refrigerant for this matter, if yes how much? knowing that the total quantity of oil in the system is 120 ml.

Thanks

If you recover your refrigerant correctly, there will only be a minute trace of oil lost. And pulling a vacuum doesn't remove the oil either, the oil is not volatile.
